                                Ferrari  Hydroplane/ArnoXI (1954)

The Arno XI Ferrari with its characteristic shape was the idea of Nando Dell’Orto, a powerboat racer circa 1950. He installed a 12 cylinders Ferrari engine onto a hydroplane hull built by Cantieri Timossi. The hydroplane touches water over 3 small spots, The Arno XI held the fastest speed record over water in 1953 at 241.7 KM/H. Nando Dell’Orto painted his hydroplane Ferrari red and made numerous aerodynamic changes until 1958.
