William Fyfe, the designer of Pen Duick was hired by the Duke of Medinacelli (Spain)  to build a sailboat to participate in international races under the new J1 class regulation. This awesome sailboat needs a professional crew. Tuiga spent a number of years on the Canadian West Coast. In 1990, she undertook a major refit at the same shipyard using the original drawings. She is now the flagship of de Monaco Yacht Club.
