The SS Gaelic was the ship that famously transported the first 102 Korean immigrants to the United States. She was built by Harland & Wolff of Belfast, Northern Ireland, for the White Star Line and was 4,204 tons. The maiden voyage was on February 28th 1885 and the ship made Pacific crossings from 1885 to 1904.The Gaelic was refitted in 1905 by the same shipyard and sold back to Pacific Steam Navigation Co. in the same year and renamed Callao, but was retired and broken up in 1907.
