The Unicorn is a fictional three-masted warship that appears in The Adventures of Tintin in the albums Le Secret de La Licorne and in The Trésor de Rackham le Rouge, published respectively in 1943 and 1944, during the Second World War. Its name comes from its pronounced figure adorned with a unicorn.
The Licorne d’Hergé is inspired by the Brillant built in Le Havre, France, in 1690 by the master carpenter Salicon. Nevertheless, the figurehead was inspired by The Unicorn, an English frigate built in 1745.
